Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0526894A1] Underframe (2) for a railway tank waggon which is designed for axle loads over 20 t and has at each end a bogey and a coupling and a buffer device (16). The underframe (2) has a central area with two longitudinal carriers (7, 8) which have only a small spacing from one another in the transverse direction of the underframe, in each case one gantry-like widening (12, 13) adjoining the two ends of the central area. Each gantry-like widening has an end transverse carrier or head carrier (14 and 15, respectively), for receiving the coupling and buffer device, a transverse carrier (9 and 10 respectively), parallel thereto in the region of the bogey pin (6), longitudinal carriers (17, 18) between head carrier and bogey pin transverse carrier and a plate cover for these four carriers. The plate cover consists of a rear and front sub-plate (19, 20), which plates bound a free space between them, the essential part of the invention being the contour of the sub-plates (19, 20) in plan view: straight side edges and end edges remote from the free space, arcuate end edges (Fig. 2) which face one another and bound the free space. <IMAGE>
