[origin: WO9116835A1] A side-member (2) intended to form the vertical lateral bearing component of a work table or other item of office furniture has two vertical side rods (4) joined to a web (5) extending between them. The areas between the side rods (4) are covered with an insert wall (13). A cable channel (16) is formed between the removable insert wall (13) and a section (5a, 5b) of the web (5). In the lateral surfaces (17) of the two side rods (4) there is a vertical back-cut securing groove (18) for securing adjacent components of the item of office furniture.

Un élément latéral (2) vertical destiné à supporter une table de travail ou un autre meuble de bureau présente deux profilés de chant verticaux (4) reliés à une cloison (5) s'étendant entre eux. Chacune des deux travées situées des deux côtés entre les profilés de chant (4) est recouverte d'une paroi amovible (13). Entre la paroi amovible (13) et une section (5a, 5b) de la cloison (5) est constitué à chaque fois un caniveau de câbles (16). Les deux profilés de chant (4) présentent dans chacune de leurs deux faces latérales (17) une rainure de fixation verticale contre-dépouillée (18) pour la fixation d'éléments raccords des meubles de bureau.
