[origin: EP0527250A1] The invention relates to a water jet propulsion apparatus for a watercraft or a vessel, particularly for a mine hunter. According to the invention at least one first water jet thruster unit (A) constructed for high-speed navigation and provided with its own direction and inversion control means (6,7,8), is combined with at least one second water jet thruster unit (B) constructed for low-speed noiseless navigation and provided with its own direction and inversion control means (14;24). One water pumping system (1) is associated with both of the first and the second water jet thruster units (A,B) and is alternatively connectable to the one or the other of these first and second thruster units (A,B). <IMAGE>
