Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0527344A2] A cutter jib for cutting machines for hard stone material such as marble or the like is of plate-shaped configuration, and rotating at its peripheral margin on a guide channel (13) open to the outside is an endless, flexible cutting belt (1) which is set with diamond plates (8) on the outside, is in engagement with the guide channel (13) by means of a web (5) and is driven in a positive-locking or frictional manner by a drive wheel situated at one end of the cutter jib and is deflected by a deflection wheel situated at the other end of the cutter jib. The cutting belt (1) consists of a flexible belt body (2) reinforced with several strands (3) and made of plastic or the like, in which the diamond plates (8) are integrally formed at distances apart. In order to fasten the diamond plates (8) in the belt body (2) in a simple and reliable manner, the diamond plates (8) are fastened to solid tool carriers (6) which have several bores (7) or elongated holes (7') and are integrally formed together with the diamond plates (8) in the belt body (2), the strands (3) passing directly through the tool carriers (6) by extending through the bores or elongated holes (7'). <IMAGE>
