[origin: EP0527411A1] Aqueous binders for the consolidation of textile materials which yield high strength values even at high temperatures, but on drying and condensation liberate little formaldehyde, contain an aqueous dispersion of a film-forming, self-crosslinking emulsion polymer and a polymer dissolved in the aqueous phase of the binder, which is made up of up to 10 to 100% by weight of acrylamide and/or methacrylamide, the weight ratio of the two constituents as dry matter being 99:1 to 70:30.
