[origin: WO9117681A1] An apparatus for destroying the contents of a closed and preferably portable safety container upon any abusive handling thereof is comprised by an envelope (1) including a detonator and a destructive material (5), the envelope (1) consisting of a material which can burst and discharge said destructive material (5) upon explosion of the detonator. The safety container can be a personal check safe and/or personal card safe, e.g. a plastic box with a drawer to secure a number of personal checks and/or cards (check cards, credit cards, chip cards and the like) or other valuables and is only accessible by the owner or an authorized person knowing the code to open said box. The apparatus is to be incorporated into the container which is powered by means of one or more batteries and may include an electric circuit with a microprocessor controlling the function of the container and initiating explosion of the apparatus upon said abusive handling. Functional condition as well as the battery condition can be shown by means of a LED. A standard keyboard is used for entering the code.

Un appareil servant à détruire le contenu d'un conteneur de sécurité fermé et de préférence portable, lors d'une manipulation non autorisée, est inclus dans une enveloppe (1) comprenant un détonateur et une matière destructive (5). L'enveloppe étant constituée par une matière qui peut éclater et libérer ladite matière destructive (5) lorsque le détonateur explose. Le conteneur de sécurité peut être un coffre de sécurité pour chèques et/ou cartes personnels, par exemple une boîte en plastique pourvue d'un tiroir pour ranger un certain nombre de chèques et/ou de cartes personnels (cartes de chéquier, cartes de crédit, cartes à puce et similaires) ou d'autres objets de valeurs et peut seulement être ouvert par le propriétaire ou une personne autorisée connaissant le code d'ouverture. L'appareil s'intègre dans le conteneur qui est équipé d'une ou de plusieurs piles et peut comprendre un circuit électrique purvu d'un microprocesseur commandant le fonctionnement du conteneur et déclenchant l'explosion de l'appareil lors de ladite manipulation d'effraction. Une diode électroluminescente peut indiquer l'état de la pile et l'état de fonctionnement. On utilise un clavier standard pour entrer le code.
