[origin: WO9214019A1] A fitting for actuating a hinged window leaf has a worm drive (19, 9) operable by a crank in a gear casing (1) to move a lever arm (11) which is directly or indirectly connected to the leaf. For optional use on right or left-handed windows, the lever arm (11) can be set to two positions opposed at 180 DEG in the gear casing when the latter is open and coupled to the pinion (9) of the worm drive. The free end of the lever arm (11) is preferably connected to the leaf (41) via a connecting rod (65), the leaf being pivotable about a virtual axis on the frame by two pairs of support arms (51, 53) of different lengths.

Une ferrure d'actionnement d'un battant pivotant de fenêtre comprend un engrenage (19, 9) à vis sans fin agencé dans un carter disposé (1) d'engrenage et actionnable au moyen d'une manivelle afin de faire pivoter un levier (11) relié directement ou indirectement au battant. Afin de rendre possible son utilisation aussi bien dans des fenêtres ferrées gauche que dans des fenêtres ferrées droite, le levier (11) peut être inséré dans deux positions diamétralement opposées dans le carter ouvert de l'engrenage et peut être couplé au pignon (9) de l'engrenage à vis sans fin. L'extrémité libre du levier (11) est de préférence reliée au battant (41) par un bras oscillant de jonction (65), le battant étant monté dans le cadre pivotant autour d'un axe virtuel de pivotement par deux paires de bras de support (51, 53) de différentes longueurs.
