The present invention relates to a method and a device for rotating a polishing barrel more particularly intended for polishing spectacles frames, watch cases and other similar metal objects fastened onto peripheral spindles (8) of a drum (4) closed at its two ends, and in the bottom of which is placed an abrasive load (6). The method is characterised in that the said spindles (8) are rotated with a time delay, adjustable if appropriate, with respect to the rotation of the said drum (4), it being necessary for this time to be less than or equal to that which is necessary for bringing the said load (6) into equilibrium inside the drum (4). <IMAGE>

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif pour la mise en rotation d'un tonneau de polissage plus particulièrement destiné au polissage de montures de lunettes, de boîtiers de montres et autres objets métalliques analogues fixés sur des broches (8) périphériques d'un tambour (4) fermé à ses deux extrémités et dans le fond duquel est placée une charge abrasive (6). Le procédé est caractérisé en ce que lesdites broches (8) sont mises en rotation avec un temps de retard, le cas échéant réglable, par rapport à la mise en rotation dudit tambour (4), ce temps devant être inférieur ou égal à celui qui est nécessaire à la mise en équilibre de ladite charge (6) à l'intérieur du tambour (4). <IMAGE>
