[origin: WO9118136A1] In a knitting machine with an electric needle selection system having a holder, a selector and an adjusting device for selection elements, the adjusting device has an adjusting magnet (41) arranged in such a way in relation to the selected knitting elements (5) that a shearing force is brought to bear on the corresponding knitting elements (5). An electric needle selection system is thus obtained that allows selection to be carried out in a reliable way even at high switching frequencies but that is nevertheless of simple design.
