Abstract (en)
The subject of the invention is novel items of jewellery and methods for manufacturing these. An item of jewellery according to the invention, for example a pen or a cigarette lighter, comprises a rigid cylindrical body (10 which is encased in a tubular braiding (2) composed of interlaced strips or wires of precious or stainless metal. The braiding (2) is manufactured separately. It is then slipped over the rigid body (1), then stretched longitudinally and welded at the two ends of the body (1), and the welds are covered over by two rings (5). One application is the manufacture of pens, cigarette lighters or jewels such as necklaces, bracelets, pendants, earrings, etc. <IMAGE>

L'invention a pour objet de nouveaux articles de joaillerie et des procédés de fabrication de ceux-ci. Un article de joaillerie selon l'invention, par exemple un stylo ou un briquet, comporte un corps cylindrique rigide (1) qui est enveloppé par une tresse tubulaire (2) composée de rubans ou de fils entrelacés en métal précieux ou inoxydable. La tresse (2) est fabriquée séparément. Elle est ensuite enfilée sur le corps rigide (1), puis tendue longitudinalement, et soudée aux deux extrémités du corps (1) et les soudures sont recouvertes par deux bagues (5). Une application est la fabrication de stylos, briquets ou bijoux tels que colliers, bracelets, pendentifs, boucles d'oreilles etc... <IMAGE>
