Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0529227A1] The ring traveller for an inclined flange ring of a ring spinning or ring twisting machine is to be designed in such a way that its position relative to the ring during rotation on the latter is optimised both in terms of its own running behaviour and in respect of the yarn run. The longitudinal extension (21) of the traveller (60) amounts to approximately 140 % of the distance (4) between the two traveller legs (1 and 3), and the part distance (18) from the longer traveller leg to an axis passing through the vertex (16) and approximately parallel to the traveller legs (1, 3) amounts to approximately 54 % of this distance. The solution for achieving the object according to the invention is based on the understanding that an increase in performance without a traveller standstill time is possible to an unexpected extent by influencing the position by means of the design of the traveller in terms of its main dimensions. <IMAGE>
