The present invention relates to a plastic screw cap for bottles, in particular for pressurised beverage bottles, consisting of a basically cylindrical outer surface (1) with an internal thread (1a) and of a substantially circular top plate (2) onto whose inner side (2a) a thin, annular sealing strip (3) is integrally moulded, and at the transition of said sealing strip to the cylindrical outer surface (1) a bead (4) is provided on the inner side for pressing the sealing strip (3) against the upper, outer edge (8a, b) of a bottle neck (7). In order to provide a plastic screw cap with the features mentioned above, whose leaktightness is guaranteed in an improved manner even in the case of considerable overpressure in a bottle, it is proposed according to the invention that the bead (4) has an at least approximately cylindrical inner wall (6) which is concentric to the closure axis and whose diameter is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the upper edge (8a) of the bottle neck, that the sealing strip (3) is of substantially cylindrical construction, and that the outer diameter of the sealing strip is approximately equal to the outer diameter of the edge of the bottle neck. <IMAGE>

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Kunststoffschraubverschluß für Flaschen, insbesondere für unter Druck stehende Getränkeflaschen, bestehend aus einem in der Grundform zylindrischen Mantel (1) mit Innengewinde (1a) und einer im wesentlichen kreisscheibenförmigen Kopfplatte (2), an deren Innenseite (2a) ein dünner, ringförmiger Dichtungsstreifen (3) einstückig angeformt ist und an dessen Übergang zum zylindrischen Mantel (1) auf der Innenseite ein Wulst (4) zum Anpressen des Dichtungsstreifens (3) an den oberen, äußeren Rand (8a,b) eines Flaschenhalses (7) vorgesehen ist. Um einen Kunststoffschraubverschluß mit den vorstehend genannten Merkmalen zu schaffen, dessen Dichtigkeit auch bei beträchtlichem Überdruck in einer Flasche besser gewährleistet ist, wird erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagen, daß der Wulst (4) eine zur Verschlußachse konzentrische, mindestens teilweise zylindrische Innenwand (6) aufweist, deren Durchmesser geringfügig größer ist als der Außendurchmesser des oberen Flaschenhalsrandes (8a), daß der Dichtungsstreifen (3) im wesentlichen zylindrisch ausgebildet ist und daß der äußere Durchmesser des Dichtungsstreifens in etwa gleich dem äußeren Durchmesser des Flaschenhalsrandes ist. <IMAGE>
