[origin: EP0529765A1] An unfinished garment (14) prepared by sewing cloth parts together is folded around a core plate, and the unfinished garment (14), thus folded, is placed in a case (22). The case (22) containing the folded garment (14) is inserted into a heat-treating apparatus (24), and the folded garment (14) is simultaneously heat-treating and pleated. The case (22) and core plate are made of air-permeable materials, e.g. cardboard, and can serve as packaging in which the pleated garment is put on sale.
