[origin: EP0530536A1] A grinding wheel with a backing body (1) with a central connection hub (12) and grinding segments (2) containing diamonds. The grinding segments (2) are arranged on the circumference of the backing body (1). The grinding segments (2) project beyond the backing body (1) at least on the side remote from the connection hub (12). The grinding segments (2) are wider in the peripheral direction of the grinding wheel than in the radial direction.
