A protecting jacket for a disc-shaped recording medium, in particular a flexible magnetic disc (floppy disc), comprises a blank of paper or cardboard - based on cellulose, coated and/or lacquered with chlorine-free plastic material or - based on chlorine-free plastics fibres and chlorine-free plastics binders and/or coatings, or - chlorine-free plastics materials to form paper-plastics composite materials, where, in each case, hydrophobic films or foils should be present on the outer surfaces of the blank. Protecting jackets for any kind of disc-shaped recording media which are open on at most one side are thus provided which from the point of view of appearance and handling are at least equal to the known protecting jackets but are much more environmentally friendly than these.

Eine Schutzhülle für einen scheibenförmigen Aufzeichnungsträger, insbesondere eine flexible Magnetplatte, besteht aus einem Zuschnitt aus Papier oder Karton auf Zellulosebasis mit Beschichtung und/oder Lackierung mit chlorfreiem Kunststoff-Material oder, auf Basis chlorfreier Kunststoff-Fasern und chlorfreier Kunststoff-Bindemittel und/oder Beschichtungen, oder, chlorfreien Kunststoff-Materialien zur Bildung von Papier-Kunststoff-Verbundstoffen, wobei jeweils hydrophobe Filme bzw. Folien auf den Außenflächen des Zuschnitts vorhanden sein sollen. Damit werden an höchstens einer Seite offene Schutzhüllen für jede Art von scheibenförmigen Aufzeichnungsträgern bereitgestellt, die vom Aussehen und von der Handhabung wenigstens die bekannten Schutzhüllen erreichen, aber weit umweltfreundlicher als diese sind.
