[origin: EP0530652A2] Device and its use for the melt-spinning of multifilament yarns consisting of yarn-forming polymers at winding speeds of at least 2000 m/min, with a spinneret (2), a cooling device (4) for solidifying the yarns, a combining member (6) for the filaments and a winding (8), an essentially vertical spinning line (A-A) being provided at least between the spinneret (2) and combining member (6), characterised in that the cooling device is a porous tube (4) which is open in the spinning direction and which is arranged concentrically to the spinning line (A-A), the porous tube (4) being neither preceded nor followed by further devices feeding or removing a cooling medium. <IMAGE>
