When offering, ordering and/or dispensing services, permits and/or products by means of a vending machine (5), the data input by the user of the vending machine are checked by the vending machine (5) for completeness and plausibility and, in the event of incompleteness or contradiction, the specification data input are transmitted to the workstation of an information assistant located at a remote location. At the same time, the information assistant is acoustically or audio-visually connected to the vending machine (5) in order to confirm, correct and/or complete the specification data by means of communication. The revised data are returned to the vending machine (5) whereupon the service, the permit and/or the product is offered, ordered and/or output. To carry out the method, the vending machine (5) is connected via a line network (3) to a spatially remote workstation unit occupied by an information assistant. The vending machine (5) has an acoustic or audio-visual communication unit (11, 13, 14, 17) interacting with the information assistant, a data input unit (9a, 9b), a monitoring unit (19b) for checking the completeness and plausibility of the data input, an output unit (12) and an interface (20) to the network (3). The system considerably improves the quality of the information provided since several information assistants having adequate information material are centrally combined. Furthermore, personnel can be saved since many vending machine users are trained and instructed in independent use of the vending machine by the assistance provided by the information assistant and thus the information assistants are relieved in future. Railway stations, public places and so forth, can be made safer again, among other things in the evening, by the possibility of monitoring the environment of the vending machine and by calming intervention by means of words. <IMAGE>

Beim Anbieten, Ordern und/oder Ausgeben von Dienstleistungen, Berechtigungsscheinen und/oder Produkten mittels eines Automaten (5) werden die vom Automatenbenützer eingegebenen Daten auf Vollständigkeit und Plausibilität vom Automaten (5) geprüft und bei Unvollständigkeit bzw. Widersprüchlichkeit die eingegebenen Spezifizierungsdaten zum an einem entfernten Ort befindlichen Arbeitsplatz einer Auskunftsperson übermittelt. Gleichzeitig wird die Auskunftsperson akustisch oder audiovisuell mit dem Automaten (5) verbunden, um durch Kommunikation die Spezifizierungsdaten zu bestätigen, zu berichtigen und/oder zu vervollkommnen. Die überarbeiteten Daten werden zum Automaten (5) retourniert, worauf die Dienstleistung, der Berechtigungsschein und/oder das Produkt angeboten, geordert und/oder ausgegeben wird. Zur Durchführung des Verfahrens wird der Automat (5) über ein Leitungsnetz (3) mit einer räumlich entfernten, mit einer Auskunftsperson besetzten Arbeitsplatzeinheit verbunden. Der Automat (5) hat eine akustische oder audiovisuelle mit der Auskunftsperson zusammenwirkende Kommunikationseinheit (11, 13, 14, 17), eine Dateneingabeeinheit (9a, 9b), eine Überwachungseinheit (19b) zur Überprüfung der Vollständigkeit und Plausibilität der eingegebenen Daten, eine Ausgabeeinheit (12) sowie ein Interface (20) zum Netz (3). Durch die Anlage wird die Qualität der erteilten Auskünfte wesentlich verbessert, da mehrere Auskunftspersonen mit ausreichendem Auskunftsmaterial zentral zusammengefaßt werden. Es kann ferner Personal eingespart werden, da durch die Hilfestellungen der Auskunftsperson viele Automatenbenützer in der selbständigen Automatenbenützung trainiert und ausgebildet werden und somit in Zukunft die Auskunftspersonen entlastet werden. Durch die Möglichkeit die Umgebung des Automaten zu überwachen, sowie durch Worte beschwichtigend einzugreifen, können Bahnhöfe, öffentliche Plätze, etc u. a. abends wieder sicherer gemacht werden. <IMAGE>
