[origin: EP0531278A2] In order to be able to insert three carrying cartons (3) for two rows of bottles each having three bottles (2) into a bottle crate (1) having a division for receiving bottles (2) in longitudinal and transverse rows, it is proposed that the division forms three sections (a, b, c) which are separated from one another for receiving one carrying carton (3) in each case, that two of these sections (a, b, c) are placed adjacent in length, whereas the third section (c) adjoins the two end sides of the adjacently placed sections (a, b) with its longitudinal side, that the two rows of bottles of each carrying carton (3) are offset relative to each other, in each case one bottle (2) of one row engaging in the gore region between two bottles (2) of the other row, and that a dividing journal (7) which projects from the bottom (6) of the crate and passes through the bottom of the carrying carton (3) protrudes into the gap between adjacent bottles (2) of each section (a, b, c). <IMAGE>
