[origin: EP0531698A2] The sound-damping screen has a frame (1), which comprises cross-sectionally U-shaped frame parts (2, 3, 4, 5). Held between the members of these frame parts are cassettes (6) arranged one above the other in the frame. Each cassette (6) contains sound-damping material (17) arranged between two opposite perforated plates (10, 11). In order to fit the cassettes (6) into the frame (1), there is in the member (5b) of one frame part (5) a cutout (7) of a length corresponding to the height of a cassette. After pushing the last cassette into the frame, the cutout (7) is closed by a flat bar (8). The sound-damping screen, including the cassettes, has no riveted or welded connections, so that the disadvantages thereof such as corrosion are avoided. Production and assembly are simple and inexpensive. <IMAGE>
