Abstract (en)
In an electrostatographic printing/copying machine, the developer device for developing electrostatographic latent images with toner is located in a replaceable sub-assembly, or cassette. The sub-assembly is provided with a programmable memory which is connected with the machine when the sub-assembly is inserted therein. The memory receives and stores an input from the machine representing the usage of the sub-assembly. The memory indicates that usage to the machine and at least one operating parameter of the machine is adjusted accordingly. <IMAGE>
