Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0532850A1] In the case of a blind rivet, especially for producing rivetted connections on supporting components for aircraft construction, consisting of a rivet mandrel, which has a thickened end and a drawing end and is provided with circumferential grooves in a conical region, the rivet mandrel being pushed axially into a rivet sleeve having a seating head, the invention is that the blind rivet has a supply of an adhesive, especially in the grooves 10, which adhesive cures once the blind rivet has been seated in the joint which exists between the rivet sleeve 6 and the rivet mandrel 2. In this case, it is particularly advantageous that the two-piece blind rivet exhibits a strength behaviour which corresponds to that of a solid rivet, so that said blind rivet also satisfies relatively stringent strength requirements. <IMAGE>
