Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0533617A1] The gripper shuttle loom is characterised, according to the invention, by a combination in which a weft changer (1) has a low-mass changer body (11) and low-mass yarn-transfer members (2) and the multi-weft device is driven directly by a high-dynamics servomotor (3). The loom can be operated at speeds higher than 350 revolutions per minute. The changer body (11) is made, for example, of aluminium and the sliding rod (2a) of the yarn-transfer member (2) from a mixture of plastic and carbon fibres. <IMAGE>
