Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0533628A2] The selection device (7) fastened to the carriage (5) of the machine selects the keys (3) or the needles directly. The selection is carried out by means of opposed magnetic ramps, in which is formed a magnetically neutral zone where a selection electromagnet operates. In the event of a failure of the current in the electromagnet, the needles remain inoperative. Such a device allows very high selection frequencies, whilst avoiding any risk of damage attributable to a failure of the device. <IMAGE>
