[origin: EP0533637A1] To obtain the automatic sewing of the toes of two stockings simultaneously, especially of pantyhoses, there is used a machine having horizontal turntable means for supporting the stockings (3) in pairs on two stocking-overturning tubes (1) which are parallel and which are equipped with sliding wings (10) for extracting the toe to be sewn, and comprising: - means (40, 41, 5) for blocking and for straightening and temporarily aligning the edge of the toes to be sewn; - means (7) for the toes of the stockings (3), with the edge thus straightened and aligned in a sewing plane (6), and for transferring it by sliding towards a sewing machine (8); - means for slipping off an adapted portion of stocking (3) from the stocking-overturning tubes (1) in order to assist the abovementioned transfer. <IMAGE>
