[origin: WO9119835A1] The device disclosed has a carrier (2) which conveys the strip (1) in the longitudinal direction. Facing the carrier are electrolyte-outlet ports (3) through which electrolyte, fed by a pump (4), is sprayed on to the strip (1), which is covered by a masking tape (5). The masking tape (5) has at least one row of holes (6) and presses the strip (1) on to the carrier (2). The strip (1) is driven by a drive unit (7) which gives it a relative motion with respect to the masking tape (5). The carrier (2) is linear and has associated with it one or more long pressure elements (8) which are disposed parallel to the carrier (2) and which press the masking tape (5) against the carrier (2). The carrier and the pressure elements form, individually or together, openings (3) facing the electrolyte-outlet openings (3). These openings overlap with the holes (6) in the masking tape (5).
