[origin: WO9119950A1] The invention relates to means for providing thermal camouflage of irregular emission pattern as a supplement to camouflage within the visual and near infra-red region. According to the invention, this camouflage means comprises a supplementary set of material pieces (12) of desired configuration which are intended to be fastened in a desired pattern onto existing masking material (10), for example a net. The emission coefficient of the material pieces (12) differs substantially from the emission coefficient of the masking material (10), preferably by a difference of at least about 0.3. The invention also relates to masking material on which such material pieces are attached.

L'invention se rapporte à un moyen de produire un camouflage thermique d'une configuration à émission irrégulière, afin de compléter le camouflage dans la zone visuelle et à infrarouge proche. Selon cette invention, ce moyen de camouflage comprend un ensemble supplémentaire de pièces de matériau (12) d'une forme désirée qui sont destinées à être fixées en une configuration désirée sur un matériau de masquage existant (10), par exemple un filet. Le coefficient d'émission des pièces de matériau (12) diffère sensiblement de celui du matériau de masquage (10) de préférence par une différence d'au moins 0,3. L'invention se rapporte aussi à un matériau de masquage auquel les pièces de matériau sont fixées.
