[origin: EP0534132A1] What is described is a process for weft insertion on an air-jet loom with a plurality of yarn bobbins forming a yarn supply, the yarn end of one bobbin being connected to the yarn start of the other bobbin and the transfer of the yarn to the other bobbin being detected. <??>The object is to eliminate adverse influences which take effect during the transfer of the weft yarn from one yarn supply to the next following the weft insertion. <??>For this purpose, the programmed travelling field of the staggered nozzles has temporarily superposed on it before, during or immediately after the detection a transitional travelling field which is maintained until an initial quantity of weft yarns is drawn off from the yarn supply or until the yarn flight time has reached its desired value. The return to the programmed travelling field takes place thereafter.
