[origin: EP0534850A1] Heat-resistant cast iron containing spheroidal or vermicular graphite. <??>To make the cast iron resistant to temperatures from 900 DEG C to more than 1000 DEG C while reducing the cost of production, the cast iron is characterised in that it contains from 4.7 % to 7.1 % by weight of Si equivalent (Sieq), Sieq being defined as Si + 0.8Al, in which the weight content of Si is between 3.9 % and 5.3 % and the content of Al is between 0.5 % and 2.5 %.
