A textile machine (M) is operated with a travelling unit (W) which has individual sections or individual units (W1, W2) having a plurality of service stations (a,b,y). Individual units can be designed, for example, for the traveller change or be designed as service stations (a,b,c) for different sequential work cycles on the spinning machine. The traveller change is carried out in segments respectively before or after the doffing, that is to say the transporting away of finished spinning cops. Since the spinning machine runs at a reduced speed after the piecing of new spinning cops, the exchanged travellers are at the same time run in carefully. Loss of production caused by a machine stoppage or a reduced spinning speed is thereby minimised. <IMAGE>

Eine Textilmaschine (M) wird mit einem Wanderautomaten (W) betrieben, der einzelne Sektionen bzw. Einzelautomaten (W1,W2) mit mehreren Bedienungsstationen (a,b,y) aufweist. Die Einzelautomaten können beispielsweise für den Läuferwechsel ausgelegt sein oder als Bedienungsstationen (a,b,c) für unterschiedliche sequentielle Arbeitsabläufe an der Spinnmaschine gestaltet sein. Der Läuferwechsel wird in Teilabschnitten jeweils vor oder nach dem Doffen, d.h. dem Abtransport von fertigen Spinnkopsen, durchgeführt. Da die Spinnmaschine nach dem Anspinnen neuer Spinnkopse mit reduzierter Drehzahl läuft, werden die ausgetauschten Läufer gleichzeitig schonend eingetahren. Auf diese Weise wird der Produktionsausfall durch Maschinenstillstand oder reduzierte Spinngeschwindigkeit minimiert. <IMAGE>
