[origin: WO9218287A1] The honing tool proposed in designed for roughing down the end zones of bores. Prior art honing tools of this type are used to rough-hone blind-end bores near the bottom of the bore. Here the end of the bore is honed with short tool strokes, the honing stones used being very short compared with the depth of the bore and the length of the tool. In order, nevertheless, to brace the honing tool sufficiently in the bore (2) and thus ensure correct alignment of the tool, the honing tool proposed has guide bars (25) which extend over the outside of the honing stones (17). The tool can also be used to rough down the upper ends of bores whose upper boundary plane is inclined at an angle to the bore axis or which have unsymmetrical constrictions at the end.

L'outil à honer sert au préusinage d'alésages dans leur zone terminale. Des outils à honer connus de ce type sont utilisés pour le pré-honage de trous borgnes près du fond de l'alésage. L'extrémité de l'alésage y est usinée avec de courtes courses de l'outil, dont les pierres abrasives sont très courtes par rapport à la longueur de l'alésage et de l'outil. Afin de garantir néanmoins un appui suffisant de l'outil à honer dans l'alésage (2), et par conséquent un centrage correct, on a prévu pour l'outil à honer selon l'invention des barres de guidage (25) s'étendant dans la zone à l'extérieur des pierres abrasives (17). L'outil peut être utilisé aussi pour l'usinage de l'extrémité supérieure d'alésages dont le plan terminant supérieur est oblique par rapport à l'axe d'alésage, ou lesquels présentent des étranglements asymétriques à l'extrémité de l'alésage.
