A description is given of a breathing protection mask with an eye space (16), through which the inhalation air flows, and an indicator, located on a carrier, for indicating the efficacy of the protection device, holding back the noxious matter from the surroundings, on the breathing connection. Said mask is to be improved such that a noxious-matter indication occurs both in the case of leakages at the sealing zones of the mask and/or at the breathing-gas-conducting lines (compressed-air breathing apparatus) and also in the case of insufficient filter action. For this purpose, it is provided that the carrier (10) is arranged on an inner half-mask (3) of the breathing protection mask, and that its entry surface, which is exposed to the noxious matter and contains the indicator (18, 118) is in contact, in terms of flow, with the inhalation air which flows through the passage openings (12, 112) between the eye space (16) of the full mask (1) and the inner half-mask space (4). <IMAGE>

Eine Atemschutzmaske mit einem von der Einatemluft durchströmten Augenraum (16) und einem auf einem Träger befindlichen Indikator für die Anzeige der Wirksamkeit der den Schadstoff aus der Umgebung zurückhaltenden Schutzvorrichtung am Atemanschluß soll derart verbessert werden, daß eine Schadstoffanzeige sowohl bei Leckagen an den Dichtzonen der Maske bzw. an den atemgasführenden Leitungen (Preßluftatmer) als auch bei unzureichender Filterwirkung erfolgt. Dazu ist vorgesehen, daß sich der Träger (10) an einer Innenhalbmaske (3) der Atemschutzmaske angeordnet ist, und daß sich seine dem Schadstoff ausgesetzte, den Indikator (18, 118) enthaltende Zutrittsfläche in Strömungskontakt zu der durch die Durchtrittsöffnungen (12, 112) zwischen dem Augenraum (16) der Vollmaske (1) und dem Innenhalbmaskenraum (4) strömenden Einatemluft befindet. <IMAGE>
