[origin: EP0535512A1] The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for applying a decoration to the conical surface of an article using screen printing. The screen printing stencil (50) used therefor executes its pivoting movement, taking place during the printing operation, in a plane running parallel to the longitudinal axis of the article to be printed. During this process, the screen printing stencil moves on a path which corresponds substantially at least to a partial circumference of the outer surface of a truncated cone whose cone angle corresponds to the cone angle of the conical surface to be decorated.
