[origin: WO9200155A1] A wire bending machine has a head (16) with a slot (18) for receiving wire (20) to be bent. A retaining device, comprising a pivoted lever (42), is movable by a ram (22) to close the open end of the slot. The lever may be pivoted by a link (44) whose movement is held back by an adjustable abutment (40).
