Un barrage comprenant un plateau généralement rectangulaire (10) avec des parois périphériques droites au moins à l'arrière (12) et sur les côtés (52, 58), au moins un élément de couverture (16, 18) monté pivotant sur le plateau de manière à être déplacé entre une position abaissée non-opérationnelle permettant à un véhicule de passer au-dessus, et une position soulevée opérationnelle, droite par rapport au plateau, et un dispositif (20) ménagé dans le plateau afin de déplacer au moins un élément de couverture entre les positions non-opérationnelles et opérationnelles, cet élément de couverture formant, lorsqu'il est en position opérationnelle, un obstacle d'une hauteur suffisante pour empêcher sensiblement le passage d'un véhicule.
