[origin: WO9102898A1] Protecting caps of fuel injection valves have a through opening aligned with the injection opening in which high-boiling components of the fuel lead to deposits, once the internal combustion engine is stopped, which reduce the cross-section of the through opening or even partially cover the injection opening. The protecting cap (20) disclosed has a recess (29) that extends outwards in the radial direction from the through opening (27) and that is so narrow that it exerts a capillary effect on the fuel, so that when the internal combustion engine is stopped, the high-boiling components of the fuel are deposited, because of the capillary effect, on the outer radial edge of the recess (29), keeping the injection opening (16) free from deposits. This protecting cap can be used with fuel injection valves of various types.

Les couvercles protecteurs de soupapes d'injection de carburant comprennent un orifice de passage aligné avec l'orifice d'injection. Lorsque l'on arrête le moteur à combustion interne, des éléments à point élevé d'ébullition du carburant provoquent des incrustations dans cet orifice de passage, réduisant sa section transversale ou même recouvrant partiellement l'orifice d'injection. Le couvercle protecteur (20) décrit comprend un évidement (29) qui s'étend radialement de l'orifice de passage (27) vers l'extérieur. Cet évidement est si étroit qu'il exerce un effet de capillarité sur le carburant, de sorte que lorsque le moteur à combustion interne est arrêté, les éléments à point d'ébullition élevé du carburant se déposent sur le bord radial extérieur de l'évidement, suite à l'effet de capillarité, et l'orifice d'injection (16) reste libre d'incrustations. Ce couvercle protecteur peut être utilisé avec différents types de soupapes d'injection de carburant.
