[origin: EP0538577A1] In an adjustment device (1) having a lower fitting part (3) which has catch recesses, a catch lever (4) which interacts with said lower fitting part, and an upper fitting part (2), and a slide (5) on the lower fitting part (3), which slide allows the catch lever (4) to be returned from an end position into the starting position, the lower fitting part and the upper fitting part are each of U-shaped construction, and the catch recesses (13) are recessed in the U-limbs (3a) of the lower fitting part (3), and the slide (5) is guided between the U-limbs (3a) of the lower fitting part. The two U-limbs (3a) of the lower fitting part (3) are each bent inwards in the region of their free ends, and the slide (5) is of wider construction below the inward bends (20) than the spacing between the inward bends (20). <IMAGE>
