Abstract (en)
A container (2) with a lid (4) consisting of plastic material in which the edge portion (12) of the lid (4) has a peripheral, downwardly directed edge flange (28) sealingly enclosing an edge portion (10) of the container positioned at the opening thereof. The edge flange has at a surface which faces said edge portion an inwardly directed, continuous projection (34) which engages a downwardly facing engagement surface (12) of the edge portion of the container. In order to facilitate the removal of the lid from the container the lid has immediately above the inwardly directed, continuous projection a hinge provided by a material reduction (36) and the lower, free edge surface (33) of the edge flange is positioned immediately beneath the inwardly directed, continuous projection (34).
