Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0539913A1] The invention relates to an overlapping card index (1) with blocks (16 to 20) which are guided by means of longitudinal strips (5, 6) on a panel (8) and are stitched together from preferably horizontal index cards (14, 15), which adhere together by means of connecting webs (22), which are separated from each other by a double crease (23) arranged at the long side in the centre and adhere together in the block stitching with the aid of the toothed strip of a flat slide (24, 24a), in such a manner that the teeth (25) alternatingly bear from the bottom of the gap between the teeth on a connecting web (21, 22), the flanks (26, 27) of which extend as far as the creases (28, 29) in the index cards (14, 15), while the gaps between the teeth separate adjoining index cards (14, 15), the index cards (14, 15) being extended over the transverse edges (31) of the connecting webs (21, 22) to bear on the longitudinal strips (5, 6) in order to enlarge their vertical length (L), and their extensions (34, 35) being provided with incisions (36) into the transverse edges (32, 33) of the index cards (14, 15), and the inner edge (37) of the incisions (36) being flush with the outer transverse edge of the connecting web (22) and being extended over the latter on both sides in such a manner that the width (B) of the incision (36) is greater than the distance between the flanks (26, 27) of the tooth (25) bearing on the connecting web (22). <IMAGE>
