[origin: EP0540391A1] The invention relates to radiological image intensifier tubes, and more particularly to means for improving the image resolution of tubes and/or correcting their output brightness curve. <??>The image intensifier tube includes an entrance screen comprising a scintillator (16) carried by an aluminium substrate (17). According to the invention, a porous alumina layer (20) is interposed between the scintillator (16) and the substrate (17). The alumina layer is tinted so as to absorb the light emitted by the scintillator (16) towards the substrate (17). <IMAGE>
