[origin: EP0540431A1] The handling mechanism for the tetrapolar circuit breaker comprises an auxiliary mechanism coupled to the main mechanism. The spring (10) of the auxiliary mechanism exerts a couple on the bar (1) which is opposed to the force of the contact springs (4b) when the apparatus finishes its closure stroke and when it is closed; the spring (10) ceases to act on the bar (1) when the apparatus has begun its opening stroke and when it is open. <IMAGE>
