In the case of a panel-shaped element, in particular window element (1) or a cladding element (2) for facades of structures, the retaining frame (10, 10') has a retaining web (18) which extends at most to the outer surface of the panel part (3, 9) and has an oblique surface which runs parallel to a chamfered end surface (16) of the panel part (3, 9). In this arrangement, the retaining web (18) engages, with its oblique surface, behind the panel part (3, 9) in the region of the chamfered end surface (16), in doing so exerting a retaining force directed towards the structure. Furthermore, the retaining frame (10, 10') has a retaining portion (27, 27') on which an inner surface (20, 26) of the panel part (3, 9) is firmly bonded. <IMAGE>

Bei einem plattenförmigen Element, insbesondere Fensterelement (1) oder Verkleidungselement (2) für Fassaden von Bauwerken, weist der Halterahmen (10,10') einen sich maximal bis zur Außenfläche des Plattenteils (3,9) erstreckenden Haltesteg (18) mit einer Schrägfläche auf, die parallel zu einer abgeschrägten Stirnfläche (16) des Plattenteils (3,9) verläuft. Der Haltesteg (18) hintergreift dabei mit seiner Schrägfläche das Plattenteil (3,9) im Bereich der abgeschrägten Stirnfläche (16) unter Ausübung einer zum Bauwerk hin gerichteten Haltekraft. Weiterhin weist der Halterahmen (10, 10') einen Halteabschnitt (27,27'), an dem das Plattenteil (3,9) mit einer Innenfläche (20,26) festgeklebt ist. <IMAGE>
