The cooking hob has an at least partially transparent carrier consisting of glass or glass-ceramic, with heating elements arranged underneath it. Provided on the periphery of the heating element is an optical conductor (which surrounds the heating element) of a lighting device, for visual indication of the heated area and/or for indicating residual heat. The optical conductor is constructed in the form of a glass ring and surrounds the likewise annular wall element of an insulation insert, which is in the form of a pan, of the heating element. <IMAGE>

Das Kochfeld besitzt einen zumindest teiltransparenten Träger aus Glas oder Glaskeramik mit darunter angeordneten Heizelementen. An der Peripherie des Heizelementes ist ein das Heizelement umziehender Lichtleiter einer Leuchteinrichtung vorgesehen zur optischen Kennzeichnung der beheizten Fläche und/oder zur Restwärme-Anzeige. Der Lichtleiter ist in Form eines Glasringes ausgebildet und umzieht das ebenfalls ringförmige Wandelement eines napfförmigen Isolationseinsatzes des Heizelementes. <IMAGE>
