[origin: EP0540904A1] In cash registers, it is necessary to safeguard the cash cassette, connected releasably to the cash register and closed by a cover by means of a locking device, both in association with the cash register and in an individual arrangement of the cassette, against unauthorised opening as a result of the actuation of the cassette keypad or the use of a duplicate key. The release pawl 4 for the cover-blocking device is provided with a lever arm 4a which is connected operatively to a blocking slide 5 via a nose 5a. By means of a further nose 5b formed on the blocking slide 5, the movement of the blocking slide 5 and therefore also of the release pawl 4 is blocked in the closed position by the mortice-lock bolt 1a of a mortice lock 1 used additionally. Moreover, the blocking slide 5 actuates a microswitch for the electromagnetic release of the release pawl 4. <IMAGE>
