[origin: EP0541012A1] The invention relates to a double-walled accumulator for the preparation and storage of hot domestic water, consisting of an accumulator container (1) which is provided with a cold-water supply connection and a hot-water delivery connection (3, 4) and which is surrounded, except for the container bottom (5) which is provided with the connections (3, 4), with a fitting outer wall (2) which conducts the heating medium and on which heating medium forward run and return run connections (6, 7) are arranged. In order to avoid temperature layerings, according to the invention there is arranged, in an accumulator (1) arranged with its longitudinal axis (8) essentially horizontal, above the longitudinal axis (8) between the accumulator container (1) and the outer wall (2), at the same level, in each case a horizontally oriented shielding screen (10) which extends as far as the outer wall end (9) but ends before the other container bottom (5'), and the heating medium forward run connection (6) is arranged at the bottom and at the end (11) of the outer wall (2) distant from the bottom.
