[origin: EP0541427A1] The subject of the present invention is a device for press-forming sheet materials, especially sheet-metal blanks (5), on a single-acting press, comprising, on the one hand, a pad (2) made of elastic material, especially an incompressible material, forming a punch (force plug) and housed in a retaining vessel (1) and, on the other hand, means for preforming and for final forming of the said sheet-metal blank (5). The preforming and final forming means are arranged in a die (6) comprising a frame (8), an upper peripheral blank holder (9) connected to the frame (8) via at least one elastic reaction, releasing (expanding) and retaining member and a die bottom (10) arranged in the upper peripheral blank holder (9), the said upper blank holder (9) and the said die bottom (10) being mounted so as to slide one in relation to the other and comprising means (13) for momentary connection between them. <IMAGE>
