[origin: WO9202424A1] An openable carton (35) is formed from a blank of stiff but foldable board material having a length of reinforcing material providing a tear strip (30) to delimit first (36) and second (37) carton parts which are hingedly connected after use of the tear strip. The tear strip (30) has a cut (32) formed in the length of reinforcing material to represent the end of the tear, residues of the said length(s) serving as reinforcement for the hinge connection (34) or the two parts (36, 37).
