[origin: EP0541958A1] A description is given of a method and a fastening system for the subsequent fitting in particular of covering panels on the basic elements of buildings, such as ceilings or walls, in which T-load-bearing profile rails or H-load-bearing profile rails (24, 70) are introduced, via their load-bearing head, into a receiving opening provided on the lower part of a profile suspending means (66). Thereafter, the covering panels (1) are placed in rows on the lower load-bearing or supporting legs (13) in each case of two sequential load-bearing rails (70) such that said panels bear, with their lower visible side, on the load-bearing legs (13) of the load-bearing profiles (70) and, at the same time, are located against the reinforced-concrete ceiling with their upper side. In this arrangement, it is particularly advantageous that the load-bearing rails are pre-mounted or pre-suspended and that, even during the laying process of the panels, they can be easily displaced in the anchor rails by means of the profile suspending means. <IMAGE>
