An aqueous binder, consisting of an alkaline solution of an amphoteric high molecular-weight polymer, is added to an aqueous pigment suspension for the paper industry and gradually neutralised with an acidifying agent, whereby the binder is precipitated on the pigment suspended in water.

Ein wäßriges Bindemittel, bestehend aus einer alkalischen Lösung eines amphoteren hochmolekularen Polymerisats, wird einer wäßrigen Pigmentsuspension für die Papierindustrie zugesetzt und allmählich mit einem Absäuerungsmittel neutralisiert, wodurch das Bindemittel auf dem in Wasser suspendierten Pigments ausgefällt wird.
