[origin: EP0543124A2] An electrical switch (1) is proposed which consists of a housing lower part (3) and a housing upper part (2). Contact tabs (23', 23'') are arranged with a normally-closed contact (29', 29'') in receptacles (24) in the housing lower part (3). A contact element having a switching contact (22) is arranged in the housing upper part (2). The contact element is moved in a snapping manner between the off position and on position via a compression spring (17) and a push rod (9) on which an operating device (5) is pivoted. An extinguishing tab (32), which consists of an extension, is fitted to the normally-closed contact (29') on the contact tab (23') which is arranged on the side of the housing lower part (3) which faces away from the contact element in the off position. <IMAGE>
