Process and equipment enabling a surface coating to be produced on articles (1) of various shapes, of the type in which the articles to be treated are arranged on supports (2) in the form of swing trays attached to a conveyor (3) which is connected to earth, enabling them to be conveyed along successive treatment zones essentially comprising a surface-cleaning zone (4), an actual coating zone (5) essentially consisting of an apparatus for electrostatically spraying a coating substance by means of a nozzle (6) forming a paraboloidal cloud of particles, the articles (1) passing in such a way that they pass through the cloud of particles in the region of the base of the paraboloid which they define. It is characterised in that the articles (1) to be coated are based on synthetic resin or similar insulating material and are held individually and vertically on the swing trays (2) moving them into the various treatment zones, and this is performed by means of supports (8) which are good conductors of electricity, ensuring continuous contact with the surface of the article (1) to be coated. <IMAGE>

Procédé et installation permettant de réaliser un revêtement de surface sur des articles (1) de formes diverses, du type selon lequel les objets à traiter sont disposés sur des supports (2) en forme de balancelles accrochées à un convoyeur (3) relié à la masse, permettant de les faire cheminer le long de zones de traitements successifs comprenant essentiellement une zone de nettoyage de surface (4), une zone de revêtement proprement dite (5) constituée essentiellement d'un appareil de projection électrostatique d'un produit de revêtement au moyen d'une buse (6) formant un nuage de particules en forme de paraboloïde, le passage des objets (1) étant réalisé de telle sorte qu'il traverse le nuage de particules au niveau de la base du paraboloïde qu'elles définissent. Il se caractérise en ce que les articles (1) à revêtir sont à base de résine synthétique ou matériau isolant similaire et sont maintenus individuellement et verticalement sur les balancelles (2) assurant leur déplacement dans les différentes zones de traitement, et ce par l'intermédiaire de supports (8) bon conducteurs de l'électricité, assurant un contact continu avec la surface de l'objet (1) à revêtir. <IMAGE>
